About Simpatico
Simpatico Bikes is an Australian titanium bicycle manufacturer founded in 2022 and based in Melbourne, Victoria. We specialise in designing and manufacturing premium gravel and all-road bicycles using Grade 9 aerospace titanium (Ti-3Al-2.5V).
Simpatico differentiates itself through modern manufacturing techniques, including 3D-printed titanium components, metal injection molding, and Cerakote ceramic coating finishes. We operate primarily direct-to-consumer from our Melbourne headquarters, with trusted dealers in Adelaide and Canberra.
Simpatico frames are designed in-house at our Melbourne headquarters in Croydon South. Manufacturing is conducted in partnership with a specialised titanium fabrication facility in China, where each frame is hand-welded to precise tolerances.
Advanced components are created using cutting-edge technologies: 3D printing for head tubes, casting for bottom bracket shells, and metal injection molding for chainstay yokes. Final assembly, quality inspection, and customisation all take place at our Melbourne workshop.
Jeff Servaas (Co-Founder): Jeff entered gravel cycling after purchasing a secondhand cyclocross bike and exploring Melbourne's extensive off-road network. Over several years, he experimented with various tire sizes across the Dandenong Ranges and Kinglake areas, directly informing Simpatico's tire clearance specifications and geometry philosophy.
Brandon Stewart (Co-Founder): Brandon brings extensive cycling and mechanical experience, with deep roots in bikepacking and mountain biking. His technical background ensures Simpatico frames incorporate practical serviceability, proper cable routing, and optimised component integration.
Modern Manufacturing: 3D-printed head tubes and cast bottom bracket shells allow more complex shapes and optimised weight distribution compared to conventional tube-to-tube construction.
Open Standards: T47 threaded bottom brackets (73mm bottom bracket shell on the Gamma and 85.5mm on N1), UDH universal derailleur hangers, SRAM T-Type and full-mount compatibility, ACR-compatible headsets, standard seatposts, and semi-internal cockpit routing with full internal frame routing.
Cerakote Finishing: Ceramic coating in multiple colours, providing superior durability and UV protection compared to conventional paint.
Direct Sales + Key Dealers: Direct-to-consumer from Melbourne, plus trusted dealers in Adelaide (Brewvelo) and Canberra (Cranky's Bicycle Worx).
"Simpatico" derives from Italian and Spanish, meaning "easy to live with," "agreeable," or "having mutual understanding." This reflects our design philosophy: creating titanium bikes that integrate seamlessly into riders' lives through durability, versatility, and timeless aesthetics.
A Simpatico bike doesn't require constant maintenance, remains current due to its open standards, and adapts to changing riding styles over years of ownership.
Titanium & Materials
vs Carbon: Titanium won't crack, delaminate, or degrade from UV exposure. It can be repaired if damaged. And it provides a more comfortable ride through natural vibration damping.
vs Steel: Titanium is roughly the same strength at half the weight. It will never rust or corrode. No paint needed to protect the surface.
vs Aluminium: Titanium doesn't fatigue over time like aluminium can. The ride quality is significantly more compliant. A titanium frame will genuinely last a lifetime.
We use 3Al-2.5V titanium tubing (also known as Grade 9 or Ti-3-2.5). This is the same aerospace-grade titanium alloy used in aircraft hydraulic systems and high-performance applications.
3Al-2.5V offers the ideal balance of strength, formability, and weldability for bicycle frames. It's stronger than commercially pure titanium (Grade 2) while being easier to work with than 6Al-4V (Grade 5).
No. Titanium is completely corrosion-resistant. It won't rust, oxidize, or degrade when exposed to water, salt, sweat, or any conditions you'll encounter while riding.
This is why many owners choose to leave their frames raw (unpainted). The natural brushed titanium finish will look the same in 20 years as it does today.
Frame weights vary by model and size:
- Gamma Race: ~1,400g (size M)
- Gamma X: ~1,500g (size M)
- N1: ~1,650g (size M)
These weights are competitive with high-end steel frames and only slightly heavier than comparable carbon frames, while offering titanium's legendary durability—20-100+ year expected lifespan with 85-95% resale value after 10 years.
Yes, this is one of titanium's major advantages over carbon. If your frame is damaged in a crash, it can often be repaired by a qualified titanium welder. The repair will be as strong as the original.
We can assess crash damage and either repair frames at our Melbourne workshop or recommend trusted repair specialists.
Models & Options
N1 (from $3,799): The versatile all-road platform. Comfort-oriented geometry for endurance road (28-35mm tyres) or gravel exploration (35-48mm). Tyre clearance: 700x45mm (2X) or 700x48mm (1X). The one-bike solution—its name playfully subverts the "N+1" joke.
Gamma Race (from $4,999): Performance gravel racing with rigid carbon fork. Maximum tyre clearance 700x60mm front / 700x55mm rear with 7mm mud clearance at the rear. 1,400g frame weight. Extended front/rear centres for high-speed stability.
Gamma X (from $4,999): Technical gravel with Cane Creek Invert suspension fork (CS or SL variants, 30mm or 40mm travel). 50mm front / 55mm rear tyre clearance. Same frame as Gamma Race—add comfort for rough terrain and bikepacking.
N1: 700x45mm with 2X drivetrain, 700x48mm with 1X drivetrain. Versatile clearance for road to gravel.
Gamma Race: 700x60mm front and 700x55mm rear with 7mm mud clearance at the rear. Optimised for modern gravel tyres and muddy conditions.
Gamma X: 700x50mm front (limited by suspension fork), 700x55mm rear. Fits chunky gravel rubber while gaining suspension benefits.
Yes. We offer frame chassis packages that include frame, fork, stem, seatpost collar, seatpost, bottom bracket, and thru-axles front and rear.
Frame chassis pricing:
- N1 Brushed: $3,799 AUD
- N1 Cerakote: $4,999 AUD
- Gamma Brushed: $4,999 AUD
- Gamma Cerakote: $5,999 AUD
Cerakote frames are coated to order with a lead time of approximately 28-35 days.
N1: Compatible with all major road and gravel groupsets—SRAM (mechanical and eTap AXS), Shimano (mechanical and Di2), and Campagnolo. Both 1X and 2X configurations work.
Gamma: 1X electronic only. The Gamma uses a wider T47 shell for clearance, so Shimano cranksets are not compatible out of the box. Compatible groupsets:
- SRAM eTap AXS with DUB Wide crankset
- Campagnolo Super Record X with aftermarket cranks
- Shimano Di2 1X with 5Dev crankset (custom axle length)
All frames use T47 bottom brackets; the N1 accepts all major crankset standards with the appropriate BB.
Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating offering exceptional hardness, UV resistance, chemical resistance, and scratch resistance compared to traditional paint.
Cerakote option: Includes coating on frame and fork in one colour, with stem and seatpost collar in a contrasting Cerakote colour.
Brushed titanium: All brushed frames are accented with Cerakote components to contrast the natural titanium beauty. If you seek ultimate durability, brushed titanium is recommended.
Both are great choices—Cerakote for colour customisation, brushed for that timeless titanium aesthetic that develops unique patina over time.

Sizing & Fit
We recommend choosing based on stack and reach measurements rather than traditional frame size.
Quick guide:
- Measure your current bike's stack and reach
- Compare to our geometry charts
- Aim for similar numbers if you're happy with your current fit
Not sure? Send us your height, inseam, and current bike details. We'll recommend the right size.
Our standard sizes cover riders from approximately 155cm to 195cm+. The geometry is designed to work well for the vast majority of riders in each size range.
We don't currently offer fully custom geometry, but we can make small adjustments within our standard range—things like stem length, spacer stack, and saddle position—to fine-tune your fit.
All Simpatico frames use a 27.2mm seatpost. This is a deliberate choice:
- Better vertical compliance than larger diameters
- Compatible with electronic dropper posts
- Easy to find replacement posts anywhere in the world
Our frames use open, industry-standard specifications:
- Bottom bracket: T47 threaded. N1 uses standard road width; Gamma uses a wider shell for clearance and does not fit Shimano cranksets (SRAM DUB Wide and 5Dev supported).
- Headset: 44mm internal, ACR-compatible
- Rear axle: 12x142mm thru-axle
- Front axle: 12x100mm thru-axle (fork dependent)
- Derailleur hanger: UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger)
- Seatpost: 27.2mm
Most modern components will work. Contact us if you have specific compatibility questions.
